Versatile Winter in the Alps
At the foot of the 2,941-metre-high Hochkönig, a versatile winter dreamland spreads out in winter. In the heart of Salzburger Land and about an hour from the city of Salzburg, the three holiday villages of Dienten, Maria Alm and Mühlbach welcome you to a holiday on the Hochkönig. Tradition and modernity combine to form an ideal symbiosis in this down-to-earth holiday region. The warmth and charm of the region are also reflected in the Wildbach Lodge, which contributes to the perfect holiday feeling.
The Development Into One of the Most Beautiful Winter Sports Regions in Salzburger Land
People have been skiing in Salzburger Land for many decades. With the start of winter sports in Austria at the beginning of the 20th century, a corresponding infrastructure was also gradually built in the area around the Hochkönig for the ever increasing number of winter guests.
While the first lifts were still simple drag lifts, the region developed quickly. Over the years, the region has become a showcase ski region of the most modern kind.
"Hochköniglich" Skiing and Snowboarding
With an altitude of between 800 and 1,900 metres, the Hochkönig region offers the best winter sports conditions from the beginning of December until April. The ski area offers skiers and snowboarders 120 kilometres of slopes. As a highlight, the region offers one of the most beautiful ski tours in the Alps: The Königstour comprises 32 km of seamlessly linked skiing pleasure and connects the three villages of Dienten, Maria Alm and Mühlbach.
Active in Winter on the Hochkönig
The fun doesn’t stop so quickly off the slopes either: whether it’s cross-country skiing on the Dientner Sattel or on a ski tour or winter hike through glistening snowfields, tobogganing with the family in Dienten, fun snow tubing or curling.
